SHERRY DONOVAN
Chernobyl Treatment Ecological Education Camp A Summer Therapy Camp for young victims of the Chernobyl accident.
Dear Bead Babe: I would like to express my appreciation for your donation to my work with Green Cross this summer.
The kind of generosity you showed, especially to someone who was completely unknown to you, went beyond the pale
and enabled me to accomplish what I set out to do.
The children I worked with were wonderful. I was amazed by their acceptance of me, and delighted by
the pleasure they took in the projects I had to offer. I found that, in the main, the children were
undaunted by their physical problems and immersed themselves completely in the
activities we were able to arrange for them; activities that wouldn't have been possible without your participation.
The enclosed placard was made for you by the children as a token of their thanks for your
contribution. Since, in spite of the children's best efforts, I didn't achieve any mastery
of Russian, I can only hope that the part written in Cyrillic truly does say "thank you".
However, there were a couple of pranksters amongst the group, so it may well say something else.
In all seriousness, though, the children were truly touched by all that we had to offer, and their
gratitude was sincere.
May the blessings you have bestowed on others come back to you in full measure.
Sincerely, Sherry Donovan.
