In January we are announcing the new Archives page where, over time, all of our past articles will be available, for free, to everyone. The site is being produced in cooperation with BeadBabe.Com and will be growing literally everyday and we convert our PDF files back to HTML so you can read all of the articles online. Of course you will still be able to print and download PDFs. You can reach the archive pages by Clicking Here. A new Archive button will be included at the bottom of each page to make your navigation easier.
If you have any articles you would like to add to our archives, we will gladly accept the articles and include them in our archived files with full links and credits to the writer and website.
Our Friends, Ann and Karen Mitchell of Ankara Designs
In late November we got to have dinner with Ann and Karen Mitchell. They were doing an annual Harvest Festival Show in Sacramento and we sat down break some bread with our friends after the show closed that night. Of course we caught up with mutual friends in the business and found out what they had done the past year.
These two ladies are some of the hardest working people in the business. In addition to working the Harvest Festival circuit, when starts early fall and extends to just before Christmas in most of the major cities on the west coast (three days each week), they are constantly teaching, doing open houses, trunk shows and bead shows. Did I tell you about the TV shows, the product endorsement shows, benefit shows and finally all the projects they do each year for BeadBugle.Com?
I asked them when they made the products that they sell and they responded, “All the time, probably our most productive time is when we are traveling to a show or sitting in the hotel room after the shows. I also assemble and design jewelry while riding the car when we traveling to the next, Ann laughed. We always have a few designs that are good movers at every show and need to replenish our inventory.”
I had to ask a stupid question and asked them both, “how many pairs of earrings have you made in your career?”. They both looked at each other and laughed. Karen said, “I don’t even have a clue, We literally sell thousands of earrings a year and have been doing it for a couple of years” as she demurely smiled.
I am telling you this story, because I just received an e-mail from Ann telling us her schedule of activities for then next few weeks. It reminds of an old saying “Fame and Fortune is generally the result of hard work”
Dear Tonette and Bill,
Here is our schedule for the next few weeks.
