Lisa Niven Kelly is an award winning artist who finds joy in all things beads. Currently, her work focuses on wirework, into which she incorporates beads whenever possible. Lisa is a regular contributor to many jewelry making magazines including Bead&Button, Beadwork and Wire Step by Step. For 2008, she will be contributing a chain project article for every issue of Wire Step by Step magazine. Her work has been featured in over 10 books and calendars. She has been teaching beadwork and wirework for more than 15 years, traveling nationally teaching for Bead Shows, Bead Stores, Bead Societies and private groups.

SayItOnYourWrist_lisa_nivenThis class is simple, fun and makes great personalized gifts. We will be making cuff bracelets of thick Sterling Silver wire, on which will pound letters and designs. Write out your favorite saying, words, or perhaps the names of your kids. The bracelet will then antiqued, polished and filed for nice rounded smooth ends.

Make these fun, textured strips by stamping with design stamps or letter stamps (or stamp words if you wish) and by texturing with a chasing hammer. You will be learning stamping, oxidizing and shaping. From there we will string up this whimsical and light bracelet.
