An Innovative Metal Clay Technique to Inpsire any Artist
The best thing about this design is its versatility. You can leave the stamped designs plain, you can use a patina (as I did in this instance), or you can go one step further and add some color.
Because the stamped images are nice and deep, polymer clay, resin, glass or acrylic enamels can be added into the recesses after the initial firing and refired or baked according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
You even can create a handmade toggle! For an added challenge, try making the stamps using the photopolymer plate technique found on page 60 of my book, Metal Clay the Complete Guide.
No matter what combination you choose, it’s a matter of cutting some squares, punching a few holes and stamping the images of choice. What could be easier?
