Intermediate LevelWhat do you think of when you hear the word summer? Well, of course there is the hot weather, vacation, kids out of school, and bar-b-ques. In our minds, from a creative point-of-view, we think of bright colors and time away from craft shows to experiment with new jewelry ideas. We are constantly exploring the endless numbers of ways to combine polymer clay with other materials to create diverse texture and dimension. Since many of you already have quite a stash of seed beads, we thought it would be fun to do a seed bead and clay project with a vibrant btn_downloadebookfloral theme. This bracelet is perfect for wearing with your summer prints to that next picnic.

About The Authors

LIQPCAnn and Karen Mitchell are sisters and partners in AnKara Designs, a mixed-media jewelry and crafts design business they started in January 1991. They are self-taught in both jewelry and polymer clay, which has allowed them to develop an original, feminine style. Their work has appeared in numerous magazines including Expression, Bead&Button, Jewelry Crafts, and PolymerCafe. In addition, the sisters appear regularly on The Carol Duvall Show on HGTV and DIY Jewelry Making with Jackie Guerra on the DIY Network. Their designs have also appeared in feature films, television, theatrical productions, and museum exhibitions. These experiences led them to write their first book, Liquid Polymer Clay: Fabulous New Techniques for Making Jewelry and Home Accents (Krause Publications, 2003), (you can click here to purchase a signed copy directly from the artists). This is the first comprehensive text to focus on liquid polymer clay (see the Bead Bugle review). One thing leads to another, and they continue to write about their passion for jewelry and clay. That’s how they wound up here as featured columnists on Bead Bugle.Com
