Wild Rose Earrings Designer: Jeanette Shanigan
These easy flowers have an infinite number of uses
One of my favorite Alaskan wild flowers, the wild rose, is in full bloom at the moment. This beady version is quick to make and there are many ways to use the flowers.
For example, you can glue them to earring posts (I recommend Bond 527 glue) or hang them from earwires as shown here. You can also string them with seed beads to make a necklace. Made large with glass pony or crow beads, these flowers also make great coasters or trivets (don’t use plastic because it will melt).
My theme for the 2008 beaded quilt squares for the Bead Artists against Breast Cancer auction is roses, so these wild roses would work well (see “Bead It Forward” for the dimensions and more about participating in this project).
